MaryAnn Gardner, founder of Skill Builders, has an extensive professional resume spanning the last 35 years including working as a teacher, principal, associate professor, trainer, counselor, consultant, lead intervention specialist and administrator. Ms.Gardner’s background is in education, human services and the criminal justice field. In May of 2008, she was awarded “Program Champion” for her success and expertise in delivering and facilitating the Reasoning & Rehabilitation and Treating Addictive Disorders Curriculum. As a Board Certified Practitioner awarded through the Center of Credentialing and Education, MaryAnn also holds a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Counseling and a Master of Education Degree in Teaching and Learning from Post University. Her area of expertise is working with highly resistant, aggressive, anti social and behaviorly challenged population in all ages and stages of development. Using best practices, a strength based approach and evidence based strategies, Ms.Gardner is highly successful in motivating and reaching a diverse, multicultural population. Ms. Gardner’s mission is to strengthen and provide the most effective services to her students, staff and clients in the education, corporation, criminal justice and human services field. Currently, Ms.Gardner is a part time Associate Professor for Psychology/Human Services/Sociology/Communication/ Personal Dimensions of Education/Alcohol & Drug Addiction at the University of Phoenix, the University of Bridgeport, Ashford University and Norwalk Community College. She also works part time as a private trainer, recovery coach, cognitive behavior practicioner, counselor, therapeutic learning specialist and consultant.
