Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Pet sitting requests started coming in in 2001, when we were still studying veterinary technology sciences and spending weekends in externships. The business went full time in 2003.
What is your primary product or service?
Healthy, happy relaxed pets and pleased, unworried pet parents.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The interest in pet sitting evolved as pet owners came into the veterinary hospital where the owner worked as a veterinary technician looking for a pet sitter. Some times the pet parent would be in near tears because their pet cannot be boarded due to chronic illness such as FeLV, siezures or unneutered. The owner began to offer her services as a trained and certified vet tech in pet sitting.
In addition, the owner of Bowser Limo Pet Sitting Service observedill and injured pets coming into the emergency room because they were not being cared for properly. The owner felt she could provide a trained and compassionate at home pet care service to help both pet owners and pets,
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Bowser Limo Pet Sitting service is run by a certified veterinary technician who has extensive experience and on going education in animal care. An even more difficult certificate to achieve is recertification as a Professional Pet Sitter from Pet Sitters International. Both certificates require accredited continuing education in animal welfare community service, business practice, animal nutrition, behaviour, vaccine protocols, dog training, parasites, zoonoses, shelter medicine, nutriceuticals to name a few. Bowser Limo Pet Sitting is not only experienced in animal care, but educated and trained.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
To provide highly detailed and expert care requires training and focus. Therefore , we can only service a small area of Danbury, Bethel and Redding, CT.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Bowser Limo Pet Sitting Service aims to keep pets happy and relaxed in their own homes. Although we maintain an office space to work on contracts, book keeping and business functions, we do not invite clients to our office. Rather, we come to the domicile where the pets are most comfortable, and keep them in that atmosphere.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept checks made out to Bowser Limo Pet Sitting Service, thank you.
Which areas do you service?
Because of the highly detailed and focused care we provide, we can only service Danbury, Bethel and Redding Connecticut. Beyond that and time would be taken away from the pets we strive to help.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
This company is owned and operated by Dorothea M. Roise-Lodsin. Occassionally her husband assists.
What are your hours of operation?
Pets need around the clock care, so we are available to meet their needs.
